About Me

My Family

I just turned 13 right now and in 7th grade middle school. I have a 15 year old brother who just started high school. We get along pretty well. My parents have been married for 22 years. There’s lots of peace in our house. I have two dogs who are Vizslas, a Bengal cat who looks like a leopard and a cool looking Ocicat. Then there’s my Quarter Horse; but more on him later. I think my mom likes purebred animals. I just love all animals!

My Goals for the Future

I love writing books, don’t get me wrong. But compared to what God has in store for me books are pretty tame. Sometime when I’m an adult or late teenager I plan to build a farm-mansion/facility. I have a rough draft of it provided by the Holy Spirit all planned out. The facility part will be used by a program that helps troubled female teens get on the straight track again, using mustangs—horses, not cars! The problem for the mustangs in my program is that they can’t be returned to the wild, so they have to be tamed. And the teens get to do the training.

This won’t be my only money maker. I will have a horse breeding program and a cattle program, and maybe an orphanage. I think that there will be many ways my money will work for me, more than just the ones listed. (Did I mention I’m going to be a billionaire?)

My Faith

A very important thing I would like you to know about me is my belief. I am a Christian and I attend a non-denominational, Word of Faith church. I became a born-again believer at four years of age and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost when I was about nine. Every single day I pray, read the Bible, and spend time with God. I know, I give this description and it sounds as if I’m 60 years old instead of 12. But if you never come to this website again I want you to remember this one thing; Jesus loves you.

My Riding History

I have been riding since I was eight years old. For two years I was only riding English hunter-jumper style. I’m not too sure how high I have jumped a horse in all of my history, but I know I have been over at least two’ six”. I competed in shows and have some ribbons in my room to show for it. During my training for English riding I started to take Western barrel racing lessons. It’s still a long drive out to that Western riding farm but well worth it. Every time I go I learn something completely new about horses. I haven’t converted to all western riding or all English riding because I love each one equally. And bareback is becoming a favorite too.

My Horse Sonny-D

I got him on August 19, 2008. It was crazy how God set this up. We went out to my western riding lesson as usual. When we parked, my western teacher was on this chestnut horse that was lathered in sweat. She saw me and said; “Dakota, do you want to ride your regular lesson horse or this guy?” I always am willing to experience as many horses as possible so I answered, ‘that guy.’ She also added, “I have just ridden him hard for the last two hours and I think this would be a great horse for you!”

Our entire family prayed hard about him and came up with the answer ‘yes’ from God. I had a horse! I have loved Sonny-D ever since. He is fast, but listens to me. He is very calm and smart, and he is just my size. He is the sweetest horse on the planet without a doubt. He’s a Quarter Horse and his history is a cutting horse. He’s eleven years old and is 15.2 hands high. I’ve started training him to jump in an English saddle. Owning a horse is a blast!
